Once Upon a Time there was a Bus Driver….

Once upon a time there was a Bus Driver. His name was Ajay. Ajay Tee. Ajay Tee’s favourite friend was Icey Tee. Ajay and Icey went everywhere together.

One day six years ago, the two friends Ajay and Icey took a trip together to a place called Sea Bee Elle. Ajay was to work at Sea Bee Elle as a “Deputy of Transport” Bus Driver. Ajay brought Icey Tee along with him to Sea Bee Elle.

Ajay was a firm but fair Bus Driver. He always stopped the bus close to the kerb, he waited patiently while some of the late passengers ran to catch the bus and he always drove the bus with precision and care. Above all, he did not think that just because he was a Bus Driver, that he was “King of the Road”…

Some passengers on the bus were badly behaved. Ajay had to stop the bus to let these passengers off. Ajay was not afraid to set limits.

Ajay’s bus had many machines on it called “computers”. Some of the older passengers were used to getting their bus tickets and timetables from their old Bus Driver. But Ajay said:

“No more bus tickets. No more timetables.
If you want them you will have to learn to use the machines on the bus called “computers”. ”

Some passengers were a bit upset about this. They wanted their timetables and their tickets the way they used to get them…… on paper.

But there was no paper on the bus. So the passengers had to learn to use the machines just like Ajay had said.

Ajay organised eight special days in the calendar year where the passengers were to spend an extra one-and-a-half hours “on the bus” and work in groups of “at least two people” learning how to use the machines called “computers”. These special days were called P.L.Gs. This stood for: “Passenger Learning Groups”.

Ajay was clever at using the “computers”. Some passengers on the bus thought that they were as good as Ajay was. Maybe even better. But this simply was not true. Ajay had many secret bus routes to go to interesting places that other Bus Drivers did not know of. One of these places was a remote town far north called Rhee Port.

The trip to Rhee Port was a long and difficult one. Some passengers travelling became bus sick. The ride was rough and it took hours and hours to get there. But Ajay kept driving. He insisted that the trip to Rhee Port would be worth it. To this day the passengers look forward to a shorter and more comfortable trip to Rhee Port.

Ajay still loves to travel. Before he came to Sea Bee Elle he drove many different buses. His next principle bus Ryde is to a place called “Wholly Cross”. Some say that the people that live there are truly angry as the name might suggest.

Ajay’s passengers from Sea Bee Elle will not travel with him to the new destination. He will board new passengers and manage a new bus load of people. Ajay is an experienced and very skilful driver and has more than enough resources to deal with the challenging journey ahead.

All folk aboard Ajay’s old bus wish him a happy and safe trip. They will miss Ajay very much. “Bon Voyage, Ajay!”
